The only heavy lift terminal in the port of Trieste.
The Industrial Port of Trieste is currently undergoing renovation and expansion, and over the last decade we have been investing massively there to realize a worldclass heavy lift terminal, from dredging the ship canal, reinforcing the ground’s maximum load, to doubling the pier, and in terms of equipment, as today the terminal can count on 36 axles of SPMTs (Self-Propelled Modular Trailers) that altogether can carry up to 1,500 tons, and a shore crane with 450 ton lifting capacity, the heaviest of the Adriatic Sea.
Such special equipment is matched by own infrastructures, such as 8,000 square meters of bonded warehouse with a 50-ton capacity gantry crane, 50,000 square meters of open areas, two operational piers, each 180-meter long, and the rail connection directly on them.
Highly-skilled personnel can provide customers with an all-encompassing service, since no operations are outsourced, from maneuvring the shore crane and the SPMTs, to simply acting as a stevedoring company by lashing/unlashing, welding, weighing or securing cargoes.
Areas (open-air or warehouses) can be reserved for industrial assembly of out-of-gauge components that need to be completed next to the loading point. Equipment such as gantry cranes, reach stakers and forklifts are available, together with our specialized staff, welders or technicians, otherwise the area of interest can be marked as construction site for the exclusive use of the industrial manufacturers, that clearly can also store their finished products before loading.
