Stable volumes and new routes set the stage for recovery
In 2024, global economic challenges and major infrastructure works affected our volumes, although only moderately. Sea freight traffic between Trieste and Türkiye remained essentially stable (-0.2%), while rail volumes declined by 4% due to operational optimisation.
The year also saw increased market competition with the introduction of new ro-ro routes by other operators. Nevertheless, the launch of services to Martaş (Türkiye) and Damietta (Egypt) in late 2024, combined with early signs of economic recovery in Europe and Türkiye, provides a strong foundation for growth in 2025.
