On March 26th, the Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani, opened the Italy-Serbia Business Forum at the Executive Secretariat of the Central European Initiative (CEI) in Trieste, reaffirming Italy's commitment to strengthening ties between Central-Eastern Europe and the Western Balkans.

Among the key attendees was Enrico Samer, CEO and President of Samer & Co. Shipping, whose presence highlighted the Group’s strategic focus on the Balkans.

The visit followed a mission to Serbia, where Tajani stressed the need for a direct link between Trieste and Belgrade, and overall, the importance of improving the infrastructural connections between the two countries, to drive the economic growth and increase national exports to the Balkans. In this framework, Samer & Co. Shipping plays a pivotal role in placing Trieste as a central logistics hub for South-Eastern Europe.
