The 2023/2024 season ended with significant changes in the A1 water polo teams of Trieste, starting from the technical management for the men, who are going to be coached by Maurizio Mirarchi, succeeding Daniele Bettini. Maurizio’s career spans both the Italian and international water polo segments, while he’s also the technical coordinator of the national women's youth team and the technical manager of the national women's under-19 team, which will take part in the European Championship in Zagreb this summer.

As for the players, there have been three new arrivals so far: the Montenegrin goalkeeper Dejan Lazović, who has won four consecutive league titles with CN Marseille in France over the past four seasons. The left-wing striker Edoardo Manzi, who joins from AN Brescia, that had just won ‘Coppa Italia’ few months ago. Lastly, one of the stars of Hungarian water polo, Tamas Sedlmayer, who won the Champions League in 2019 with Ferencváros Torna and the European Cup in 2023 with Vasas SC Budapest.

Meanwhile, also the women's A1 team got stronger by welcoming the 19-year-old, centre-back Vera Koptseva. The Moscow-native player scored over 40 goals in her first year in Italy and has established herself as one of the most promising players on the European scene.

Additionally, there’s a happy return: Veronica Gant. She grew up in our youth sector and will wear again the Pallanuoto Trieste cap after winning three Italian championships with Orizzonte Catania.

All is set for the next season!
