Enrico Samer, President and CEO of Samer & Co. Shipping, was appointed 'Cavaliere del Lavoro' of the Italian Republic
This high honor is awarded to businessmen who, in addition to an impeccable career, are singularly meritorious by promoting a substantial increase in the Italian economy.
The Order of Merit for Labor is one of the most important orders of the Italian Republic. It was reformed in 1952 and 1986 to be more restrictive, carrying on the history and prestige of the similar monarchical award created in 1901 by Vittorio Emanuele III.
On the 31st May the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, signed the decree which, upon the proposal of the Minister of the Economy and Made in Italy, Senator Adolfo Urso, appointed 25 'Cavalieri del Lavoro', among which two are entrepreneurs based in Friuli Venezia Giulia.
The 'Cavalieri del Lavoro' are officially bestowed every year on Republic Day, the 2nd June, while the awarding ceremony is hosted by the President of the Republic in October in Rome.
