On the 12th September Lilli Samer presented the first 'Dario Samer Award’ to the winners of the 21st edition of the ‘Premio Trio Trieste’, a chamber music international competition organized by the Chamber Music Association of Trieste, that Dario Samer has long supported.
On the 12th September, Lilli Samer attended the closing ceremony of the 'Premio Trio di Trieste' when she presented the first award dedicated to her father, Mr. Dario Samer, and sponsored by Samer & Co. Shipping. The winner was Trio Pantoum comprising the pianist Virgile Roche, the violinist Hugo Meder and the cellist Bo-Geun Park.

The competition was very tough this year, thanks to the high artistic level of all the participants coming from all over the world. The French ensemble won the first prize, including some future concert opportunities in Europe, as well as a live recording to be used for online streaming. The awarded artists were selected by an authoritative international jury chaired by Giuseppe Ettorre, the principal double bass of La Scala Philharmonic Orchestra.

Dario Samer, together with the whole Samer family, was a lover of chamber music and had been supporting the Chamber Music Association of Trieste since its establishment in 1995 when the founders came together with the aim of organizing a series of high-level musical events to make homage to the Trieste refined chamber music culture. Dario’s son Enrico and daughter Lilli have been obviously following that tradition.

The 'Dario Samer award’ also keeps alive the memory of a visionary, strong and determined businessman, deeply rooted in Trieste, but with a tender soul and a clear passion for arts.
