Colombia is on our radar

scroll down
On the 28th of April our President and CEO, Enrico Samer, welcomed the Colombian Ambassador to Italy, Gloria Isabel Ramirez Rios, to exchange ideas and contacts for new business opportunities.
The Colombian market has long been on the radar of our International Freight Forwarding department, which is monitoring all potential tools and contacts to expand our service portfolio for Trieste to become a logistic hub from a South American perspective.

Colombia is already the main country of origin for coffee imported to Friuli Venezia Giulia, but other export opportunities are there to be seized in the agri-food and trading sectors. They are both already served and supported by our import/export operators also through our local infrastructures and facilities visited by the Ambassador, specifically the port terminals and warehouses we manage, both at the Customs Free Port and the Industrial Port of Trieste.

The Ambassador also went to the Trieste Port Authority to meet with the Secretary General, Vittorio Torbianelli, and further explore the possible trade cooperation, in particular with the port of Santa Marta on the Caribbean Sea, which serves a significant catchment area with large producers of coffee, tropical fruit and palm oil.
