Our Project Cargo team arranged an important shipment remotely, from the other side of the world, on behalf of one of our main partners. The Trieste office organized the cross-shipment of mechanical components from Shanghai to Balkhash, a city located in East-Central Kazakhstan.
The challenge for our colleagues was to identify the most reliable transport mode for five exceptional vehicles, carrying 40 heavy pieces weighing about 200 tons, to cover a distance of over 4000 kilometers, from China to the heart of Central Asia.
The greatest issues for this shipment were related to border crossing, whose waiting times were supposed to be too long due to the pandemic. Our staff identified the town of Bakthy in Kazakhstan as the ideal gateway to complete all customs duties quickly and smoothly.
