We welcomed three delegations from three different countries, Belarus, Indonesia and Chile, to create new business relations and strengthen the current ones.
In recent days, our President Enrico Samer welcomed three delegations from three different countries: Belarus, Indonesia and Chile, aimed both at creating new business relations and strengthening the current ones.
The delegation from Belarus was received from 18th to 19th May. Together with the Minister-Counsellor at the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Italy and the Deputy Minister of Industry, the delegation was made also by businessmen operating in the steel industry and looking for creating joint business opportunities.
The meetings went on the 20th of May when it was the turn of the Indonesian delegation, made by the Minister-Counsellor and the Sales Officer at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Italy. Indonesia is one of our target markets and there lies one of our main customers for which we are their official freight forwarder for their imports and exports. The company specializes in the production of extracts from red seaweed, such as agar agar, used in the food, pharmaceutical and beauty industries. The group is headquartered in Indonesia, where the crops and manufacturing plants are located, and in Trieste where they have their laboratory and trading division next to our Ortolan Mare port terminal. The visit was mainly aimed at networking with the Indonesian authorities and showing them our customer's local warehouse.
The May visit program closed on May 24th when our President Enrico Samer welcomed a Chilean delegation made by the Ambassador of Chile in Italy, Mr. Sergio Romero, and some representatives from an institution of the Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs in charge of promoting the export of Chilean goods and services, to attract foreign investments in Chile and to promote tourism in the country. The visit followed a series of contacts created and managed by our international freight forwarding department, who is working to create a joint collaboration and development opportunities by turning the Port of Trieste into a hub for Chilean products and exporters, especially for Central and Eastern Europe. Later on, the delegation met with the local authorities, visiting the Prefetto, the Regional Governor, the Mayor and the President of the Port.
In such a development framework, besides the official meetings in our headquarters, all guests also visited our infrastructures and facilities, to see and understand the overall capabilities of our group and the potentiality of Trieste as part of a larger collaboration project relating to the provision of logistics and transport services.
