We comply with the Good Distribution Practice certification to ship pharmaceuticals

We obtained the Good Distribution Practice (GDP) certification, ruling the safety requirements for the transport of pharmaceuticals and medical products for human use

The ‘good distribution practice’ describes the minimum standards that wholesale distributors must meet to ensure that the quality and integrity of medicines is maintained throughout the supply chain.

Complying with GDP ensures that:

  • medicines in the supply chain are authorized in accordance with European Union (EU) legislation;
  • medicines are stored at the right conditions at all times, including during transportation;
  • contamination by other products is avoided;
  • an adequate turnover of stored medicines takes place;
  • the right products reach the right addressee within a satisfactory timeframe.

Distributors should also put a tracing system in place, in order to find any faulty products and to have an effective recall procedure.

The certification, issued by the Certiquality body, was gained after a two-month testing phase to assess the validity of the suppliers’ network, the security requirements and the management software we use.

The certification will be re-assessed in 2022 as established practice.
